Just lost 3-2 to the lowly Nats. Pathetic.
No update on Adames’ sudden prowess at the plate?

He went 0 for 4. Back to his old ways. Now batting a stellar .204. Pathetic.

Won big 14 - 1.
Willie A got another hit.
Frelick, Contreras, Santana and Yelich are the only guys hitting at the MLB level. The rest should be in the minor leagues or traded to the Cubs or Mets.
1965 Braves who ranked last in home attendance and ranked 5th in the National League standings sported the following batting averages:
1 C Joe Torre .291
2 1B Felipe Alou .297
3 2B Frank Bolling .264
4 SS Woody Woodward .208
5 3B Eddie Mathews .251
6 LF Rico Carty .310
7 CF Mack Jones .262
8 RF Henry Aaron .318

Might want to take a look at what hitting at an MLB level looks like these days. There aren't 10 guys hitting .300 in the entire MLB right now.

Amazing isn't it?
Do you think it's the batters in decline or the pitchers that much better?

Pitchers better, but I think the emphasis is on power instead of good contact which leads to a lot more strike outs and fly outs.

With Willie back in the line up his batting average soared today from 0.201 to 0.202. He's making $8.7M this year.
Monasterio and Frelick are batting > 0.280. Joey ain't hittin' nuttin' honey.

Crew just lost 3 to LA Dodgers. Cubs are only 1 behind in the loss column. Crew is constrained by funding. Haven't been to World Series since '82.

Former Brewer Hunter Renfroe among the players dumped by the Angels yesterday. Unfortunately the Brewers need bats, not another low .200 hitting defensive guy. Now Grichuk, otoh…?
Side note: WTF are the Angels doing? They have one of the weakest farm systems in the league yet didn’t trade Ohtani and are now assuredly gonna lose him to FA after this season with nothing gained in return. Now the vet dump. Holy smokes, what a dumpster fire of an organization.
