Thought of it yesterday with PFF hyping up Mayfields incomplete hail mary, the absurd 70+ air yard throw Rodgers hit in Detroit in 2009 to Donald Driver , at :25 in this video roughly
ok, that THROW is amazing. From the 20 to the 10, almost exactly.

But did y'all watch through to the end and see Woodson's stat line?!? 7 tackles, 1 sack, a FF, a recovered fumble, 2 INTs, 1 of which returned for a TD. Like. WHAT?!?

Anyone watch his interview with Kay Adams on Instagram Live? Just wondered if it was any good.

These random factoids just keep coming up. :P

Interesting stat because we all know that defense wins championships and turnovers win games.

Favre won 3 MVPs with many TDs and many INTs. So far Aaron has won 2 MVPs with many TDs and very few INTs.

It could simply be an appetite for/getting away with taking risks as opposed to not. Do you like precision laser passes or precision back shoulder passes?

What's the # sacks taken comparison normalized to games played in a Packers uniform (between Favre and Rodgers)?

GO PACK GO !!
I looked it up.
In 12 seasons as the Packers starting QB 2008 to 2019 Aaron Rodgers has been sacked 439 times.
In 16 seasons as the Packers starting QB Brett Favre was sacked 438 times.

Heck yes ......... the gunslinger was more apt to risk the INT rather than eat the ball. I think we all knew that ............ I just never studied the sack or INT stats to compare Favre to Rodgers on that level.

thx for pulling together that data.
And Rodgers sat in offensive review meetings for 3 years dissecting those Favre INTs- and that clearly had an impact on how he plays

In 1996, the years the Packers defense only gave up 19 regular season TDs, Favre took 40 sacks and threw a remarkably low (for Favre) 13 INTs.
In 2007, Favre took only 15 sacks and threw an also remarkably low 15 INTs.

I conclude if you have a great defense you can take more sacks and still win. If you don't have a great defense you can't take as many sacks. Of course keeping the INT numbers down (turnovers down) and winning the turnover ratio battle is a big difference maker as well.

So since the 2020 Packers D is middle-of-the-road (at least so far it seems that way), Rodgers needs to keep his # of sacks down.

Of course keeping the INT numbers down (turnovers down) and winning the turnover ratio battle is a big difference maker as well.

So since the 2020 Packers D is middle-of-the-road (at least so far it seems that way), Rodgers needs to keep his # of sacks down which is thankfully happening.

Switching gears to Freakin' Aaron Freaking Rodgers stats --> In 2010 Rodgers took 31 sacks and threw 11 INTs (similar to Favre's sack to INT ratio in 1996). Aaron Rodgers 2 All-Pro years he took 36 and 28 sacks, and threw only 6 and 5 INTs, respectively.

In 2019, Rodgers was sacked 36 times and threw only 4 INTs.

So far this season after 13 games Rodgers has been sacked only 13 times and has thrown only 4 INTs. So again.......with a mediocre defense the formula of taking a low # of sacks combined with a low # of INTs seems to be the right combination. Let's see how this goes. Gotta win the turnover ratio in the playoff games.......and not drop passes. Winning it all in 2020 with a mediocre defense will be difficult, but not impossible as long as the sacks are kept low.

Special Teams may have to come through as well. Let's see of Tavon Austin can provide some much needed Desmond Howard / Travis Williams majik on Special Teams.
GO PACK GO !!

Yup. MVS catches it...Rodgers has the highest passer rating in NFL history and 50 TDs.

What an absolute amazing year this season was for Aaron Rodgers. What a joy it was to watch.

Rodgers has now completed the two highest single-season passer ratings of all time, and he did them 9 seasons apart.

I wanted 2 things out of the 2020 draft:

1) I wanted us to take a QB high.
2) I wanted that QB to never see the field here and be traded in 4 years.

So far so good. Rodgers needed a little bit of a kick in the butt and it has worked out perfectly. Now let's see him get a 2nd Lombardi.

If these are the final latest 16 game stats........48 TD passes and 3 rushing TDs. Only 5 INTs. 121.5 passer rating.

About one game away from hitting the Top-10 in career yards.

And, just like that, sitting at 7th, all-time, in passing TDs.

We know Tampa was a rough week. What was Aaron's second worst performance by passer rating?

Week 15 against Carolina. 20/29 - 143 yds - 1 TD - 0 INT - 91.6 RATING

The second WORST... it was also the only other week his passer rating was below 100.

Only other week below 107, even

If you add Rodgers' two worst games together (Tampa and Carolina) they're only a little bit higher than his full season rating.

What a tremendous season for Arod, especially after the malaise a lot had between last season and year befores propensity to avoid middle and throw away 900 times. Perfect command of offense, best qb to run this shanny scheme ever, career high completion percentage. If you told us in 2018 he'd put up 121 qbr and 51 touchdowns not everyone would have believe you.

I knew he had it in him. But I knew he couldn't do it by playing the same way he did from 2015 on.

He went back to the type of player we loved watching 2009 - 2013 and it has been a true joy. It's just so fun again to see him whip a deep ball and his deep balls being rare enough that you actually believe he sees something at the end of the throw to be excited about.

Like that anticipation of "what is on the other end of the TV screen when this ball goes back to the ground"...nothing like it.

....then MVS drops it. ;)
