Z walked into some easy sacks this year. It happens. Sack numbers go up and down and don't always tell the whole story. Someone posted double-team numbers, though, and no pass rushers in the entire NFL were blocked by multiple players more than Z and Watt. I think they could be new best friends.

We played in Houston last year and I took note of how JJ Watt played. He didn't have much of an impact on the game, but replay after replay you could see where our focus was as an offense. You could also see, as we ran away with the game, their entire defense mail it in while he continued to battle his ass off. I want that. For our defense, which has seemed to mail it in a bit themselves when the going gets tough (and the Smith's have been main culprits), I think that sort of thing is contagious.
as we ran away with the game it was away from Watts, just like teams run away from Clark, a good OC will always try and wall out great defenders in some way either with a chip or completely in the other direction.

I got a feeling if we do bring in Watts the coaches and Guty will be sold that he can play up to the contract we give him.
Hold your horses yoop. We ain't getting both Watt brothers. We can only get one Watt. ;)
well one Watt is better then no Watts

JJ Watt signs with the Cardinals.

Guess he doesn’t really want a ring.

Well we were never gonna compete if his priority was money. I just thought he may prioritize a chance for a ring. I have no belief in kingsbury and the cards, so I think it’s safe to say he prioritized money. Good for him, I guess!

Jj leaves one of the easiest divisions in football for the hardest. Got paid tho!

Yup. AZ defense was ranked 12 in ppg last year. Does his signing make them better or worse in that area?

He uses a narrow grip while squatting.

I'm guessing reddick is gone? He had a breakout season. Jones will be back though. Money talks and they ponied up

Moving along

Packers used as leverage again? $11.5 million against the cap in 2021, at least. Was never happening for us...

Wise decision: he gets paid now, while else he'd have to chase a ring which is highly risky and only pays off later thru Ads and TV-deals. The NFL is 100% entertainment business and 0% honor and JJ knew it.

We are also a winner since an injury-prone old man does not bother us.

Sadly I'm okay passing on that.

JJ was a unique fit and talent, now all I hope we do is just sit and wait till about 2 weeks into FA and there gunna be some big time bargains there.

Still releasing Preston, so can add some edge depth, starting corner, then maybe some borderline starting DL or OL as well. Maybe still bring back Jamal Williams then too or similar.

There will be other DL options available.

Does anyone think less of Wisconsin’s chosen son now that he had a chance to come home and help bring a title to his beloved home state, the home town team needed him, the title chance was legit, and he chose a big paycheck somewhere else?

Not that I think we should think less of him, but some people here love the guy so much bc of his Roots i was just curious if him having the chance to come here and saying no thanks impacts any perceptions of him.
