News that Woodruff is hurt and can’t play, Burnes has his shortest outing of the year, Williams gives up 2, leave 11 on base when we get to their bull pen in the 3rd.

All very depressing.

Still haven’t announced Peralta as the pitcher tonight, but it’s gotta be him right? He was probably on a Thursday schedule though.
Yeah, I was pretty stoked about the Brewers chances this year with their big 3 starting pitchers, bullpen, defense, and smart base running.

Then Woodruff got injured. Then Burnes bombed. Then their base running turned careless. Then their bullpen ace laid an egg.

And now they're facing the opponents ace in a crucial game 2.

Please tell me this ain't gonna be just another Brewers playoff fizzle...

To add to the depression, there are some that think Woodruff could be career type done. Hope its not the case. Saw some doctor speculating and his thought was it may not be an injury that can be fixed by surgery, injections, or anything.

Not a good day for pitchers to let us down. But I knew the bats would disappoint. No reason to think that was going to change for the playoffs.

Another year, another disappointing playoff.

What happens now? Does Counsel leave?

I hope not. Unfinished business. We will lose a lot but have promising rooks.

It’s a major bummer, but a heck of a season. I love Brewers season, it’s long, you don’t see every game, I like listening more than watching. I really just expect them to get me to football season, anything on top of that is bonus. This year was fun.

That's all true to point, however, this playoff flopping is getting really old.

I'm not nearly as invested in the Brewers as I am the Packers but this year felt a little different. They had the pitching. They were hot over the last month of the regular season. Then to fizzle again just takes the wind out of you, yet again.

They've got some young talent and hopefully they build off this year. I imagine they'll be competitive again next year but unfortunately this org is really conditioning its fan base to not get too overly excited about them.

162 regular season games... why doesn't baseball have a decent 7-game playoff series, wildcard all the way through?

Yeah, I am the same where Brewers are definitely secondary (Actually 3rd behind Packers and Badgers), but they were not beating teams like the Braves/Dodgers anyway. As a "casual fan", I just go along for the ride and enjoy when they have a successful season, and to me a playoff appearance is successful for the Brewers. Been conditioned for that as you said. Packers flop in the playoffs = devastation. Brewers flop in the playoffs = Eh. To me anyway.

Same.

This Brewers ending, to me, is relative to a regular season Packers loss. Disappointing but not too heavily invested in it.

Because then it may snow at the beginning and end of the season in Milwaukee! That would be kind of fun to watch though.

Is pretty dumb to win 92 out of 162 games, win your division.

And you get to be in the playoffs for just under 27 hours.

The counter-argument is play better when the playoffs come around. They already had the home field advantage.

Anybody feel any better now that the D-Backs have advanced past the Dodgers in another sweep? They’re clearly playing at another level right now. You know, as is typical for just about every Brewer playoff opponent.

The Brewers are the Brewers. The 1982 magic was so long ago. Just be glad they're still in town. Counsell and other managers couldn't get the rosters they needed to get to the World Series. Harvey Kuenn somehow did it without a modern stadium.
I wear a Henry Aaron Brewers jersey and that's it. Mainly for the lineage to the Braves playing at County Stadium.

Counsell officially interviewing witht the Mets. I think there's a fairly good chance that he goes there. I'm guessing the Brewers are willing to pony up the dough to keep him. But he can reunite with Stearns and its a new challenge. Milwaukee is home but has to get frustrating never quite getting what you want and having to work with a lesser hand every year.

Am I the only one who doesn't think he sticks with the Brewers? Word is the Brewers will make him the highest paid coach in the league. But I think any team in the running will do that. My gut says he's gone and wants a different challenge. Find out soon.

I was right. I think its the Guardians unless another surprise team jumped in. Not 100% sure this is a bad thing. Love Counsell, but the Brewers may need a reset as well.

I missed that the Guardians already hired Stephen Vogt. Hearing all sorts of teams being thrown out there. Yankees, Blue Jays, Marlins.

Wow, he's going to the Cubs. I don't even know what to say to this.
