Saints trading for Carr would be almost best case scenario for the Packers, should we look to trade a QB.
Saints are kind of a team that doesn't 'need' a QB, with Jameis and potentially Dalton back. But them trading for a QB will not add potential QB's to the FA lot. At best those two guys might be added to a team drafting a rookie QB.
So this move basically just creates a QB opening (Las Vegas), doesn't add any eligible starters to the musical chairs game. And then gives Las Vegas some additional draft capital to potentially get someone else.

They have $%@# their cap up so bad it is ridiculous. The only players they can cut and save more than $2 million in 2023 is Jameis Winston, Will Lutz, Carl Granderson, and James Hurst for about $4.5 million each for Hurst, Granderson, and Winston and $3.7 for Lutz. The majority of their top paid players would see a cap hit to cut them... The void years on all their contracts in unreal.
I can somehow understand the point of Rodgers. Sometimes in my life I’d do very long hikes to get my head clear, or some trips far away to get a new perspective. But usually those life-important decisions should come to you naturally over time, not forced into a tight window with a lot of hokus-pokus. It just looks from a distance as if #12 is not playing for the sake of winning & competing anymore but just to build his legacy and to remain significant.
I‘d still like to see him to ride off as a Packer for good, so I‘d opt to keep him, for pure sentimental reasons but since this is the first time I do not think he is good enough anymore to lead us to the promised land I‘d be not in tears either if we trade him to get some gem(s).
Yeah I know everyone loves to make fun of him, but ultimately, the guy is very focused on his mental health, and in my opinion, that's great. Too much stigma around mental health but more people should focus on theirs and the solution isn't always "counseling". Lots of great alternative methods so kudos to him.
I'm not a fan of Rodgers' stance on some issues, especially his association with Rogan. But that's for another forum that I don't want to get into.

He's being flamboyant about it though, Loves the media attention, his comments fuel that, every time he opens his mouth his comments spark comments from every news source for days after, and we all listen, so who's the fool here, maybe we all should hibernate with mind altering inducement drugs till whenever we here something from a dependable source

It will be interesting to see how Mahomes does now that he's entering "recognize cap expense" years of his contract.

Love only due 2.3M this year. I'm guessing that would ultimately go up for playing time incentives? I am not sure how to ball park it.
For simple math, lets say it might be $8M.
HE should get $20M in 2024 under 5th year option. Franchise tag for 2023 is $32, maybe guess that goes up to $36M next year.
Thus for the Packers to control Jordan for 3 years, it would cost them $63M (8+20+36).
Jordan might not like that current arrangement, nothing really now, no guarantee of any offer for 2025, he's essentually just due his $28M for 2 years.
Therefore he might jump on an offer that basically replaces his old contract, something around 3 years $60 million. Packers can offer at minumum a $28M signing bonus, that's what we owe him anyway.
Jordan gets some money today, he's probably happier, his agent is happier We can still probably push the cap hits to mirror what is currently in pace, somewhat, could maybe still cut him after two years and not be too much more on the hook that what we would be now.
Seems like a nice strategy for both sides, Packers get honestly a very cheap QB contract for 3 years. Could probably extend him in 2025 after he wins MVP and the Super Bowl to bring down his 2025 cap hit.
