https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... -positive/
In response to a report that 49ers receiver Kendrick Bourne may have generated a false positive COVID-19 test on Tuesday, the NFL insists that he did not.
“There have been 104 instances thus far of a positive test followed by a negative test the next day,” a league spokesman said in a statement. “101 times it was proven that the individual was positive with subsequent tests.”
The positive test was confirmed. Thus, as of Tuesday, Bourne was positive. It doesn’t matter if he tests negative Wednesday, Thursday, or beyond.
And none of it changes the fact that the protocols have initiated, and that the 49ers won’t have Bourne or the players who were in close contact with him on Thursday night against the Packers.

I will bury my head in shame if we don't boat race them.

No - win scenario for the Green & Gold.
If the Packers prevail handily, it will be dismissed given the decimated roster in SF
If the Packers win a close one or come up short - indictments will be forthcoming
However, given your awesome avatar - it would seem that shame isn't a big concern of yours

Screw that, no win scenario, come to play and take the win! This is a game possibly not one Packer fan honestly predicted a Packers win if we were healthy, talk about a gift! They all count the same at the end of the year.
I could care less about the media perception in week 9 if we are holding the Lombardi at the end of the year.

Yup. We need the win. We aren't full strength either.
We will not be the leader of the NFC either in standings or percpetion tonight either way but we do buy ourselves time to get there.
We will have plenty of time convincing us fans and the nation we are a solid squad with games vs Indy, Chicago, Tennessee and Chicago.
Just keep getting wins.

lol, just teasing obviously, but i also don’t care about local or national media perception.
Still in a lul here, but we are granted two JV level games coming up here in the next two weeks and a mini bye to hopefully get healthier.
Get to 7-2 and start to get that run the table swagger going.
This is still a super young defense. We have what; 3 guys in their 6th year in the league (smith smith Amos) and everyone else is still just a child. Clearly not happy with how they are playing, but also know that this group can absolutely play better. They got about 2 1/2 weeks to figure it out before they go back to playing NFl caliber offenses.

Who do we need to worry about more tonight, McKinnon or Hasty?

Honestly thought of him right after I typed that, but was too lazy to go back and correct myself.

Alan Lazard will not be activated.
Aaron Jones will be decided during warmups.

Kirksey will not be activated either.
Kind of almost want Aaron Jones to stay down tonight and get back to 100%. But I also would prefer Bak to back to give whatever runner best chance possible, and despite Turner doing fine at LT, don't want Aaron getting killed either.
Aaron has all day, and on a less windy day, carves up the D with several deep shots. Packers get out early forcing SF to pass to catch up and D plays solid, SF still gets a few garbage points.
Packers 38
49ers 20

Should we still be worried about our kicking game?
I am starting to have visions of Errol Mann, Booth Lustig and Mike Mercer. This is NOT a good thing.

Any news about Bak playing tonite? I saw he took the flight to CA with the team.
