The end of the Rodgers era... and possibly the Davante era... will be sad for me, and for all fans of the franchise. BUT...
For pure reaction, I'm so excited about when the Packers trade Rodgers to the Giants or Eagles for both of their first round picks, take a WR early, a DT, and a WR late round one with their own pick.... and everyone LOSES THEIR MINDS that they never gave Rodgers help, but they stock up on help for Love.
Can. Not. Wait.
trade Rodgers, I doubt he'll sign off to just go where the Packers can get the most picks though, who would go to Philly? he might go to NY, whatever, but the best thing the team could do for Love is extend Adams.
my goal with getting a ready to play WR wasn't just to help Rodgers, it was also to help any QB after Rodgers, and Love will need all the help the team can supply him with.
you bet I'am livid over not getting Rodgers another top end WR, every Packer fan should be, the goal is to get the ball out fast, in order to do that ya need receivers that get open fast, this isn't complicated, having more then one receiver that can do that consistently should have been #1 priority for over 4 to 5 years now, so imo that is a huge failure, Guty sure showed Rodgers who's boss when he took Moore, Brown and Scantling, we fans paid the price though for that crap.
Guty moved down and back up for Alexander, moved up and took Savage, these where deliberate decisions to get targeted players, he could have done the same for either Jefferson or Ayuik or another, in stead he sat as other teams traded up to get them, when people tell me that was not possible there being naive concerning how this &%$@ works, we have watched our GM's do this stuff almost every time they loved a player, obviously Guty didn't have his heart set on a WR, the lack of talent to help Rodgers is unforgivable, why you would ever think I'd find this acceptable is mind boggling.
you can't wait to move into a new era, I don't have a choice, but I for sure am not looking forward to it.

Man. Next offseason when we have the 10th pick, 32nd pick and 42nd pick plus two 2023 1st rounders AND a Super Bowl ring....my goodness that will be fun.
The major downside to Love's first season is we won't have much money. But that is okay. Just stock up the cash and expenses for 23 and 24.
But this is a Rodgers thread.
Did anyone else watch the McAfee show yesterday? Rodgers totally admitted that the TE screen they ran to Tonyan in week 2 was totally a copy cat of what they saw week 1. Some of us fans on here called it.

What if he pulls a Brady stunt and wins the Super Bowl not wearing a Packers jersey? Talking about Rodgers, not Love.

That probably is what’s going to happen. Manning-esque. I will be happy for him.

First let's have him pull a Brady stunt and WIN a SB wearing a Packers jersey.
If he gets a ring outside GB people will definitely say, "see!" but the 2022 Packers won't be a SB contending team any more than the 2016 Packers were (likely less). So at that point it's just right to move on period. He can win one for the Raiders as long as he won one for us first.

if he Wins this year with us he could say to hell with it and retire, I'll take that and for go trade compensation, I wouldn't mind at all seeing a retirement celebration for both Rodgers and Crosby at a pre game next season as long as we add another trophy to the showcase this year.

The good thing is that Rodgers has not lost his ability this season and the Packers are legitimate contenders. Things looked a little bleak after the Saints game but look pretty good right now.
As far as Rodgers having a say in which team he goes to, of course he does. But there is nothing wrong with the Packers getting the 16 pick and a good young Dlineman, for example. Rodgers will want to go to a team with a decent Oline so he does not take a beating and at least 1 above average receiver. And who knows, Rodgers and Adams might go to the same team. That combination would turn a lot of 8-9 teams into SB contenders.

If he does that, Gute and MM should be fired for not having traded him to Denver last winter.

You would fire a GM after 3 consecutive NFC Championship appearances and a Super Bowl victory because he didn't get a few draft picks for a retiring player?
I would recommend reading the words you typed outloud before hitting submit. And if it sounds bat &%$@ crazy, maybe don't need to hit submit as its written.

so your goal wasn't to win a SB, rather to get as much for Rodgers as possible to set Love up, thought so, obviously you don't buy into 1 in 5 QB's busting out.

I certainly don't believe in only 1 in 5 QBs busting out.

No one believes in your made up statistics, but I am with you that I will be fine if he decides to retire instead of play for another team. Obviously, the trade compensation would be awesome, but it would suck to see him in another uniform. I also don't think it's a fire-able offense to not trade him last offseason when you wanted/needed him for this year. Hard to put a price on the present, but let's not discount it down to nothing, either. Holy buckets.

just guessing, on average 1 or 2 QB's per draft class play up to the slot they where drafted in, observation over the years, does every comment have to be geek tested here? I'll believe in Love when he's been a success starting some real games.
Skeptics comment was so crazy I probably should have just let it go, I mean who gives a &%$@ about compensation if Rodgers last season produces a SB trophy, not me thats for sure.
anyone want to place a bet that we win a SB with Love?

Funny choice of words. You're the one applying vague, made up statistics to QB success. I am the one saying evaluate each situation independently. Love has so many advantages in his situation compared to a lot of other guys, but hey, 1-in-5.

OK, a gentleman bet, or the go for the throat type title of your super nova with the 427 rat California racing engine type
the odds of us winning a SB with Love have to astronomical.

Why?
Assuming he becomes our QB at some point and based on my knowledge of statistics, I believe you arrive at 1/32 per year. Same odds as Rodgers. Same odds as Andy Dalton, Kirk Cousins, and Jared Goff.
There will be a billion other variables at play along the way, but stop acting like the deck is stacked against him.

I'd say they are just as good if not better than our chances were with Rodgers 2011 - 2020.
