it clicked for Adams right from the start, just look at the stats as a rookie, he had a very good catch to target rate, and it dropped quite a bit in year two because of the injury, good god you people will say anything to defend Scantling, and I could care less about what people here said about Adams year two, I didn't agree then and I sure wont agree now

There's really just not much to say here.

First Two Years:

Davante Adams - 88 catches. 160 Targets. 55% Completion %. 929 Yards. 4 TDs

M. Valdez Scantling - 64 catches. 129 Targets. 49.6% Completion %. 1,033 Yards. 4 TDs

Both receivers showed bursts of stardom their rookie years. Coincidently, both players had their rookie breakout games vs the Patriots interestingly enough. Both showed they had talent but both showed massive concentration lapses that took plays and points off the board. MVS is a bit of a more home run hitter (just look at his yards per catch) so his balls have likely a harder catch rate.

The big difference is Year 3. Adams stepped up as that #2 role looking to be the clear #1 of the future starting Week 12 in 2016.

MVS is not that. MVS will never be a #1 most likely. Nobody here is saying he will. But MVS absolutely can be a fine #3 to stretch the defense and could even develop into that #2 role. He certainly has the quicks and speed for it. He just needs to get rid of the concentration lapses.

And to see a guy who clearly and visibly cares and to see his coaches and teammates rally around him like Rodgers did for Adams when he sucked in 2015...I have confidence MVS can do it.

Will he? Who knows.

But we were told to... But now we aren't?

I don't know what the post before last is trying to say...

FYI, Randall Cobb was on the football team in 2018. So MVS had Adams and Cobb ahead of him, while Adams had Nelson and Cobb. Adams was also a 2nd round pick while MVS was a 5th round pick. Much more polish on Adams coming out.

All this is to say that the book is being written on MVS, but we haven't even reached the climax yet. It's getting exciting though after some struggles.
