If Jones can play, he should play. We pay these guys millions (sometimes MILLIONS) of dollars. They should play every week that they can and even a few when they cannot. It’s professional football.
Appreciate the old school mentality, but football is a physical game and it’s only week 2. My desire for him to sit in not rooted in just giving the man a day to eat snacks and drink cola, it’s so this issue doesn’t linger and he can be in better condition for more important battles ahead
Thanks. But this isn't old school. It's about the commitment that the players, coaches, and staff make. If playing will be detrimental to a player's health, that's one thing. If it's a painful nuisance but otherwise not a negative, that's another thing. The team would decide.
:-)

I'm of the opinion if you can play, you play. Of course there is a lot of room for interpretation in there. If my trainers say the odds of further injuring it are very high that's not a situation where I think "you can play". That's a " you can go out there and hurt yourself worse" opportunity.
Time of year also comes in to factor to a degree and type, severity, where etc, the injury is position of player all that.
Take Jones for example. let's say it's determined he has 60% chance of further injuring hamstring in a week 2 game. I'm probably holding him out because you can't beat physiology and it takes time to heal. It's a long season. play 1 game to affect the availability for the next 8? If it's the playoffs and he has a 60% chance off further injuring his hamstring, he's playing.

I'am hoping we jump out to a 2 score lead and keep it that way till we jump to a 3 score lead in garbage time
Bring the heat, and run to open the pass.

Love is going to need to be flawless. We are missing both our big play threats. We will need to string together plays for long sustained drives. I felt like last week Carolina had all day and there was very little pressure. He should have the time.
Defense will need to really have themselves together like last week and dominate the LOS. If they get off to running the ball it’s only a matter of time until London or Pitts gets their shot downfield.
