He's short, but weighs as much as Kayvon. 10.125 hands aren't small. 34 arms aren't short.

Yeah, I confused Drake Jackson with Drake Jackson. Same names, different players altogether.

I mean, this isn’t a great “HOF” kind of draft. No one screams that potential to me,
I mean, potential, damn near everyone. Likelihood, that’s a very different story.

I don’t think this is a weak class at all. Lacking a normal top 5-10, I think just Hutchinson by himself, then a whole lot of red chip guys.

And then backup? I don’t know. OLB3 can earn a lot of snaps over DL3 and LB2 is he is good, I would 100% be okay trading up for an edge. Can easily earn up to 50% of snaps this year and then essentially be play every snap other than breather guy from year 2+.

Silly to me to not take that guy because you have concerns about year 1 snaps.

And I was meaning to bring up Jackson.

What decently athletic edge prospect stays from like 45-55 in nearly every ranking for months without ever cracking higher or dropping?

Not sure what to make of that, personally not a fan. Can’t ever get just a few guys to start buying in at any point?

London is a better run blocker. So I’m on his wagon.

Can’t believe it’s been 7 years since I spoiled the Damarius Randall pick. In the end, turns out Damarius spoiled the pick.

London isn't a separater, great in traffic, wins contested balls, blocks well, same can be said for Burks, Olave avoids traffic, Has refined route running skills, has the speed to take the top off a defense, all 3 will be good fits for what we need, because all 3 will provide production, and that after all is what where looking for, will one provide more then the others, only time will tell.

Right Tackle, 2 WRs, LB, Defensive Lineman, Tight End, maybe even another offensive lineman.

Not saying don't take them, just that they all have some significant drawback for what this team looks for in the position. Not great fits, but if actually available at our pick, might be necessary.

Also, if you're not gonna do the scheme prescribed things well, kind of have to make up for it in other respects. Adams was not good at blocking, but the receiving more than made up for that. I like Olave and Wilson well enough, don't see either as "elite" though.
Did u think Adams was going to be elite out of college? If the Packers draft a wr in the first round I am guessing his blocking prowess will be well down on the list of attributes.
But that is not what is being discussed at all. The large theme of the forum this year is immediate impact. Hence we must go round 1 as that is percieved as immediate impact.

Davante Adams didn't start having any real impact until around 2.5 seasons into his career. That would be considered a failure from this draft.
Davante could have had plenty of impact his rookie year. It’s very convenient to leave out that rookie Devante had 1200+ yard cobb on it and 1400 yard + Jordy in front of him

Adams still had almost 500 yards his rookie year even with those guys and their production in front of him!

Adams steps into a team where little Lazard is WR1 and he has plenty of impact his rookie year.

The new talented WR we select won’t have prime jordy and cobb to take targets away from him

London won’t be available when we pick. Olive and Burks might/will. There you have it now.
:-)

…unless we trade up.

Didn't see much mention about Gutey's presser. Not a whole lot there, but I came away believing this draft will be no different than any other year. I don't expect different strategies or even an overly aggressive style. The fans may still be all-in, but I think this is shaping up to be a classic, long-term Packers draft.

It's impossible to reason with people that purposely leave out the particulars concerning this thing, half the people in this forum wanted to trade Adams when he struggled year two with injury's and drops, yet they will support to the hilt the 3 stooges who never really amounted to anything other then Scantling having one decent year.

other teams have success with rookie WR, we have a great coach and QB yet according to this forum thats a impossible task for us :thwap:
