We have been struggling with clock issues for years. They never explain why but it is consistent. As for play calling at the end MLF said they had 9 big bodies in tight begging for us to pass. Vance Joseph does that a lot and pretty much forces a quick decision. MLF really blamed his play calling so who am I to argue with him. None of our 3 big bodies were playing and I don't think Aaron trusted anyone but Cobb in that situation.

Not Aaron's best game but pretty much what we needed from him. Run first and keep the clock moving. I'm sure the timing was way off with WRs who you didn't get a chance to work with during the week.
I totally understand the defense dictated to us what we "should" do. But in a game without 3 WRs, I dont care what the numbers tell us we should do. We had Dillon and Jones, we have Dafney...we are on the inch line...take four downs to pound the ball and get an inch. Let them put all 11 guys in the box, go get an inch.

I would rather us dictate whats going to happen, as opposed to reacting based off of what is given...in some situations. And a night without 3 WRs, on the goalline, with the way Dillon was running...I choose to impose our will on the D in that spot.

I gotta say, I still cannot get over the fact that Hopkins legit faked a back shoulder fade, while the ball was in the air, which adjusted his speed perfectly to lead to him catching it in stride. Stokes looked silly on the play, but that was a genuinely unreal play by Hopkins. I honestly haven't seen anyone else ever do that before (not saying it hasn't happened, but I haven't seen it)

I know. I watched it multiple times today. On one end, I'm mostly mad because we won that play.

On the other end, that was legit one of the best plays I have ever seen from a WR. That was God mode by Hopkins.

That was just unreal. That might be an INT if he doesn't do that.

I feel like even if the whole world knows it's coming, lining up AJ Dillon under center for a QB sneak would be unstoppable with more than 1 try. Not saying they should have had that in the plan on a short week with a lot of complicating factors, but it's officially something I'm considering now. Haha

That we didn't QB sneak it on the 6 inch line... We know it works, I've seen it!

It's also worth pointing out how insane Stokes' speed is that he run witht he receiver, bite on a fake (which in 99.9% of circumstances would have been called reacting extremely quickly and decisively to the receiver showing hands), cut and go the wrong direction, turn and catch Hopkins from behind on the same play.

Like that is SPEED.

I like this.

I am actually not a fan of giving the ball to Dillon near the goalline on a regular handoff. He doesn't have the wiggle that Jones that does and I think will be a lot more unsuccessful than people think.

But something like this where he only needs to travel literally an arm length...I trust that as long as he can handle the snap.

I LOVED the FB handoff to Dillon yesterday by the way. I love, love, love when they have both 28 and 33 on the field.

To be fair. We also know it doesn't work.

We saw our defense stop it literally 4 days ago.

I'm surprised Rodgers didn't sneak it because a week or two ago, Rodgers was on Pat McAfee saying his reputation for not being good at sneaks is based on two plays and his reputation for not liking sneaks is slander spread by Bakhtiari, so I figured he'd be really anxious to prove people wrong about that in a clutch game winning situation.

Why was AJ Dillon picked in the 2nd round?

last night is why. You don't see backs that big have that GOOD of cutback ability.

AJ Dillon is an absolute privilege to watch once he gets in a groove.

the play we ran on 3rd and one was beautiful and would be so hard to stop on the goalline. Lined up in the I-formation with Dillon and FB and Jones at TB. Quick handoff to dillon as defense doesnt know if its going to Dillon or Jones. Beautiful play. Would have loved to have seen it tried again.

I think the player I am most disappointed in last night is JuWann Winfree.

He had the opportunity to be the prime guy in the WR group last night due to his natural talent and ability. He got open a lot. He just played stupid, undisciplined and mistake prone.

He dropped balls, didn't move the chains and fumbled the ball. The Drop and fumble I believe cost us 10 points. The drop cost us 3 points before half and the fumble...that was a touchdown if that ball stays in his hands.

Excited we may have a player in him, but he clearly wasn't ready for the spotlight. You can see the talent though.

Yeah, absolutely disgusting, filthy. Not fair.

Ball was definitely underthrown by like 5-6 yards without that, surprised Kyler could even get it to where he got it with how he threw that.

Yes, and on his first catch for a first down, he was damn close to getting a really stupid taunting penalty.

True, imo though what Dillon does works well between the 20's when a defense has to play honest against both the run and the pass, on pure run plays and short yardage we've seen Dillon gang tackled in the backfield, obviously a lot depends on the DL where facing, But Dillon needs to build up a head of steam to really be affective

He did save an end zone interception tho, breaking up a ball thrown behind him with the CB in perfect position.

Winfree looked like he moves like an NFL WR, gets open with surprising regularity, but isn't mentally ready. Needs to get the little things right.

I mean, do we think Winfree has ever run more than a handful of reps with Rodgers? Winfree obviously has some work to do, but a lot of that gets worked out when you're on the same page with your QB and practice with the units you're playing with. So I'm much more excited about the separation than I am disappointed by the errors, though he is like a 3rd year pro, I think, so hopefully some of the finer elements do start to come into focus for him.

if dillon is getting hit in the backfield, i choose to blame the blocking and not the back. full stop.
