Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2023 will be in brackets.

Here's how this works:

Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll. You may vote up to TWO players (a change that was made mid-poll last year, seemed to work well).

Simply voting is not enough!

Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 15-20 guys, new players added in bunches every few days).

Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

With Dillon gone, all members of the corrected (Toure->Doubs) initial list of 20 have been picked. King is the last member of the 2024 draft to be added to the list.

I'm going to go with Wooden and Melton. Both are young players that saw rotational action late last year (playing heavily rotated positions), both could see a lot more use with a strong offseason.

Wooden, McDuffie, and Melton all have a high chance of seeing the field in some capacity. Wooden has put on some muscle and is playing DE, both of which should help him see the field more, in addition to being a high-upside athlete.

Kind of a coin flip for me between the other two. Melton is more talented, but has a lot more talent in front of him, thus a harder path to see the field. I feel like McDuffie is at worst our #3 LB, not to mention has the most familiarity with our DC. I think he will have a slightly bigger role for us next year than Melton.

Interesting to compare our list versus Andy's.

Spoiler
Top 10 is pretty spot on.

I think Wooden will play more snaps at DT, but he got a little taste of DE in the minicamp because some of the regulars were out

"With starting ends Rashan Gary and Preston Smith not present for the voluntary practice and with Lukas Van Ness sidelined by a broken thumb, Wooden moved from defensive tackle to defensive end.

“Nothing out of the ordinary,” Wooden said.

That’s because Wooden played a lot on the edge at Auburn. During his final three collegiate seasons, Wooden according to Pro Football Focus played 663 snaps outside the offensive tackle, including 253 in 2022.

“This week, we’re down a couple guys,” Wooden said. “I’ve played it before so it’s nothing out of the ordinary. I had to get back to different rules, obviously, but I like it.”

Oh yeah he will definitely be DT way more than DE, the versatility just helps give him more ways to see the field.
