Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2019 will be in brackets.
Here's how this works:
Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll.
Simply voting is not enough!
Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 10 guys, a new player is added to the list each day).
Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

Going to go Funchess now before I hold my nose and vote for Turner. Might take Lane Taylor over Turner.
Who is OLB #4? I'm at a loss to come up with someone after Gary.

Funcheese!
I know middling interior OL are boring, but probably time for Turner and Taylor soon.
No idea about OLB4, it's a wide open competition of unknowns, but we're getting to the point where QB2 should get on the poll...

I think Garvin and Roberts are the two main candidates for OLB4. Some discussion here:

Turner according to McGinn
Good games:
Lions
Broncos
Bears
Redskins
@Chiefs
@VIkings
Bad Games:
Seahawks
@Bears
Vikings
@SF (REG)
@SF (PO)
Eagles
Would be cool if he and Taylor battled for that guard spot. I would like to go Funchess, EQ, and MVS all together.

Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
I have no idea what to expect from Funchess with any reasonable confidence. I could see anything from him being the full-time WR2 to him getting fewer snaps than the 'stooges.'
Yeah, I say go with the starting OL. Sure, Turner could theoretically be usurped, but for now, the job is his to lose and I doubt that anyone is a legitimate threat to his spot.

Hoping that Funch will show well, and rejuvenate his career in GB. He does have the high WR draft pedigree that people love so much. Would be just fantastic if he could turn into an efficient WR2/3.

I think I have to go with the starting O line.
I'm just not really convinced that Funchess is going to do a whole lot for this offense, especially with Brown coming back (and he looked good before the injury). You already have Adams and Lazard. If MVS rebounds too... I'm not really sure where that's going to leave Funchess.

I went with Lancaster. He was a starter last year, though admittedly not a very good one. Other than Turner who was worse, I don't see any probable starters in this list.
I could see ESB as a possibility, there is room for him if the Packers don't play a lot of 2 TE sets. If they do, I could see Tonyan as deserving now. Burks has an outside chance as a starter at ILB. Not much to get excited about any more.

I went EQ. Better hands, more speed/athleticism, a lot more upside IMO compared to Funchess.

And yet couldn't get a shot ahead of MVS last preseason. I still can't get past that.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020 17:58I went EQ. Better hands, more speed/athleticism, a lot more upside IMO compared to Funchess.

Uh, he spent the season on IR. How was he supposed to start?NCF wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020 20:08And yet couldn't get a shot ahead of MVS last preseason. Cant blame the team for going MVS above ESB. MVS is physically superior. You want to give that guy every chance you can to be the guy. Unfortunately hes just an athletic marvel who has nothing else to his game.NCF wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020 20:08And yet couldn't get a shot ahead of MVS last preseason. Then ESB gets hurt 3 weeks into preseason. If that never happened MVS would have gotten passed up all the same once the team realized he sucks.
I changed my vote to break the tie. I dont really like Funchess but anything is better than Billy Turder.

I was going to do the opposite to break the tie. But I will let it ride because I want to be rid of both Turders so we can talk about a legitimate prospect. Frankly I would put these 2 at the bottom of the list.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑04 Jun 2020 04:26Cant blame the team for going MVS above ESB. MVS is physically superior.
