I think that means Elgton or Rhyan is our new center. Tell me about this guy. That's a lot of money.

Yikes that's a lot for a guy that hasn't been great, or even very consistent.

I actually will put my money on Rhyan. I think he fits really well at OC and Jenkins best spot has always been LG.

6th highest paid guard in AAV.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
This does really muddy the waters at OL, though, for Sheed and Morgan. Have to decide who is moving to Center unless they still re-sign Myers which would be really weird. Ultimately, I think they re-sign Tom to a monster deal and let Sheed walk. Hopefully Morgan can take that spot and run with it.

Jenkins has the C experience. Banks is experienced as a LG. Seems easy to me that its Jenkins going to C and Banks in as LG. Rhyan was a college LT now playing RG with no expereicne at C besides practice with us. Dopesnt track for me for it to be Rhyan.

better run blocker than pass pro, still ranks about average at both, also played 17% of snaps at center, his size and run blocking props could make him our new center, that a big contract to not have a specific position
Fair enough. I just like Rhyan's scrappiness at C and despite his size he was bullied at times at OG. You can hide that a little better at Center. I never really liked Jenkins at C, but it could conceivably extend his career a bit.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑10 Mar 2025 14:49Jenkins has the C experience. Banks is experienced as a LG. I'm reading that the contract is very friendly in a way that if he sucks, we can cut him in 2 years with very little penalty.
So Lupe, sorry, I'm going to have to be elite here and cancel you.

I'm betting the Packers have a preferred plan. But with Banks, Jenkins, Rhyan, Tom, and Monk all options at center; that gives a lot of flexibility (which the Packers always want).

This deal scream Billy Turder to me. He had two really bad years and last year had his best year but it was still very average. I would be fine with the signing but this is a wild pricetag for what has been a career mediocre player at a non premium position.
