Rank the Draft Pick #2: Round 1

Post by go pak go »

A little quiet here.

Wondering if we can do an excerise called "Rank the Draft Pick". Effectively we will provide 3 options of players in the top 4 to 5 position groups that could potentially be available to the Packers at Round 1 and see how we see them.

For this Round 1 Poll, I am going to include the top 3 players by:
  • Wide Receiver
  • Defensive Tackle
  • Edge
  • Cornerback

I am not going to include players are who are likely consensus Top 5 picks. I may include some who could be a top 10 pick but could also slide.

Like Rank the Roster, each person can vote for up to two players.

Packers Draft Pick Wish List Round 1 Rank
  1. Tetairoa McMillan - Wide Reciever (Arizona)

Feel free to nominate names to the list.

I repalced McMillan with Egbuka.
I added Josh Simmons as a wildcard position to the list.

Gonna go with Harmon for reasons explained previously, and Barron. I think Barron is such a useful chess piece in the secondary that can tie all of our pieces together. Praying for a Terrion Arnold type surprise fall there.

Keep seeing more of this. DJ had McMillan going #22 in his latest mock after Golden. Starting to prepare myself for the heartache of him being on the board at 23 and Gute passing.

I'm kinda unsure about Tet, tbh. I'm not overly fond of possession receiver types as your WR1. Definitely like having one in the WR room, but more as a #2 or 3 option, not the go-to guy. So I dunno if it will crush me if we pass on him at 23, provided I like the guy we end up taking.

Having said that, he does make a lot of sense for us. Our receivers got bullied by physical DBs and our offense struggled in the RZ; Tet addresses both of those things in a big way. Drake London is also doing well for ATL and that's Tet's comp. That production is definitely worth the pick.

And we have not really seen Love play with that type of receiver, so I wonder if such an addition would be a revelation, or a flop.

we need that DT Harmon, more :) , what about Donte Thorton, Tenn. 6.5 214 lbs and runs 4.3 40 in maybe round 4, he'll give us field stretching ability and is cheaper than MVS.

not sure what caused Reeds drops last season, typically that's a mind over matter issue, to much thinking about everything outside of just concentrating on the catch and finishing that process, Wicks though according to reports has always had trouble with that

Harmon pick A, pick B was tougher, I think both McMillian and Golden will be gone top 20, and between Burden and Egbuka, I want the laters speed, so I chose Emeka as my fall back.

Yeah, Drake was going to be my rebuttal.
