If I told you that I'm an Angels fan would that ease the pain at all?

Ha! No, not at all. If it's any consolation, Paul Skenes' girlfriend said he eventually wants to play for his hometown Angels. So you got that goin' for ya.Captain_Ben wrote: ↑17 Jul 2024 16:53If I told you that I'm an Angels fan would that ease the pain at all?
My response was aimed more at the jeering of the Cubs. I love where the Brewers are at, don't get me wrong, but it was kinda ironic to be mocking the division rival when the Crew is struggling.
Not to mention he was a one-man wrecking machine against the Twins this weekend, nearly single-handedly beating them both at the plate and in left field.
Sounds like Yelich is going to miss significant time with his back. Not looking good. He's been dealing with it for several years now. Wonder if he finally gets surgery.
We just can't have nice things, can we?

Apparently both Da Bears and Cubbies still SUCK!
The good news is the Crew have some outfield depth. No, they don’t hit like Yelich but they’re decent.
Have there been any updates on Woodruff? Last I heard, he had surgery and there was a possibility he may return this season. Getting him back at something resembling his former self would be huge.
Brewers starting to roll. Swept the Braves in their ballpark, and did it convincingly!
More impressive is the play of Jackson Chourio. Two homers today, the youngest player to do it in Brewers history. This kid just keeps getting better and better. And only 20 years old!
His progression this season has been fun to watch:

Was talking with a coworker about Chourio. He's looking so good right now. I hope he stays this way. We've had glimpse6befpre on prospects. But he appears to be the real deal.APB wrote: ↑08 Aug 2024 18:23Brewers starting to roll. Swept the Braves in their ballpark, and did it convincingly!

Turang is right up there with Jackson C as well.
Turang doesn't have the offense that Chourio has (not now or even close to what Chourio's ceiling can be) but his defense is stellar. Like gold glove stellar.
Yelich announced he's opting for season ending back surgery. Ugh.
It sucks, but to be honest this isn't the year. Get these youngsters some playoff experience this year and Yelich's back right then look out next year.

I was hoping he would have made that call before now. No idea what his surgery will entail, but I hope by doing it now, he'll be ready to go to start next season.

Great win yesterday!
Chourio, again, leading the offense and Devin Williams slamming the door to end it.
Williams is definitely back. The last two games he mowed down the meat of the Dodgers superstar lineup. Betts/Ohtani/Freeman on 7 pitches on Wednesday; Pages/Betts/Ohtani (with both Betts and Ohtani striking out) on Thursday.
This young team competing with the goliaths of the league is so much fun to watch.

For those of you who remember the 1982 Crew, this will give you goose bumps. Man, what a season it was!
