Kind of funny that the team that reminded Wisconsin of the value in this (the Bucks) is now probably the least cohesive.

Robin Yount was at AFF today. 50 years since his Brewers debut in 1974 at 18 years old.

Same. I watched about 3/4 of the game. Most I have watched was about an inning and a half of any prior game this year. You knew it was the kiss of death when the announcer said the Cardinals hadn't come from behind in the 8th inning in over a year.

Stifle Ediths!
We're on the cusp of greatness now. Getting close to winning the NL pennant.

This is tough to watch, especially considering the Brewers lost by a single run. Just brutal.

I was never a fan of automating these calls. But there are just too many mistakes made and they cost games. So I am now on board with automation.

Technology is too good not to these days. At least for the MLB. The NFL, OTOH, apparently cannot agree to a process for tracking down and distance. There has to be a better way there, too.

Big double-header day for the Crew.

If they sweep the Reds, they've got a legitimate shot of overtaking one of Philly/LA for that 2nd overall spot. If they get swept, they're pretty much resigned to the wildcard round, again. Split and there's basically no change although time is running out.

Not the end of the world with any outcome but, boy, I'd sure like for them to avoid the wildcard round if they can.

Currently tied with Philly for the #2 spot, and trailing the Dodgers by only 2 games for the top spot. :aok:

Chourio turning his ankle in game 1 yesterday isn't good. He stayed in the game but was pulled from game 2 as a precaution. Doesn't sound like anything serious at this point but they need all hands on deck, especially his, as this race winds down.

I saw Wade Miley began throwing again. Supposed to see a specialist while they're in Cincy to check on recovery progress. It'd be nice to get him back and throwing effectively for a pennant run. I must say, though, I'd be hesitant to mess with a good thing. The Brewers starting rotation has been really good of late and the acquisitions of Civale and Montas have, thus far, really paid off. The more arms the better, sure, but the current SP rotation has been really solid.

Chourio is something else. After his slow start, the kid has been leading the league in BA since early June. Goes out and cranks a solo HR in the ninth inning of a tie game last night, going 3/4 on the night, for the win. And he's 20 years old.

This kid is gonna be special special.

So much fun watching Chourio and the other young starters excel. Turang, Ortiz, Perkins and Frelick. Combined with Adames, Contreras, Rhys and Bauers we've got a real shot at the NLCS championship.
Chourio could be the next Mayes or Griffey Jr.
Go Brew Go!

Another extra inning loss for the Crew last night. They gotta get that figured out.

As an aside, I still don't understand the strategy of using Megill and Williams in the 8th/9th innings and then handing the ball to the likes of Koenig and Peguero when the added pressure of an automatic runner is put on the pitcher in extra innings. I'd think the ability to get a much needed strikeout with a no-out runner on 2nd would outweigh the regular inning pressures. Someone explain that to me.

Side note: Chourio was, once again, ballin' last night. That kid is something else. He now leads the active team in batting average (.280) after finishing the month of May hitting a measly .210. Dude is batting .320 since June 1st. This is quite the extended tear he's on.

Man, I hope the annual October swoon hasn't started early this year. Ever since the series split with the Dodgers and the big deal made over the Crew having the best run differential in the league, it's been down hill. No starting pitching, no shut-down pen, no timely hitting, and quite a few losses. Last night's drubbing in SF is just the latest weak performance.

I suppose it's better to go through it now than come playoff time. I just hope they snap out of it by then.

Crew gave one away last night. Murphy, for whatever reason, chose to keep Williams in reserve and sent Koenig out in the bottom of the 10th with a 2 run lead only to blow it. I suppose Murphy wants Williams available with Philly coming to town but, man, that's a tough loss.
