What's Tampa Bay's REAL fan base anyway?

Here's some info from an article dated January 9, 2020.

For the third season in a row, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had bottom of the league attendance.

The team finished their 2019 season with total home attendance of 355,102, about an average of 50,728 per game. That is good enough for the third lowest in the league. The Bucs have not finished better than No. 20 in the last five years, according to ESPN statistics.

The only teams to have lower attendance were the Cincinnati Bengals, who had the worst record in the NFL, and Los Angeles Chargers, who play in a soccer stadium with a capacity of 27,000. For comparison, Raymond James Stadium has a capacity of 65,890. When adjusted for capacity filled, the Chargers jump to No. 25 leaving the Bengals and Buccaneers at 32 and 31, respectively.

The Dallas Cowboys topped the league in attendance with 727,432 total home fans, averaging over 90,000 a home game. The New York Jets took the No. 2 spot followed by the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos and New York Giants, the Packers being the only team to make this year’s playoffs.
This is a problem in FL. A large percentage of folks who live here come from someplace else and bring their sports allegiances with them. I would say only the Dolphins have a decent following. Attendance at FL venues is even worse for baseball. Unless the Rays are hosting the Yankees or Red Sox Tropicana Field is practically empty. It is even worse for the Marlins.

Well, I think their current QB might know a thing or two about playing in cold temps. ;)

I’m confident in this match up but not really seeing a great cold weather advantage. Brady, Gronk, Godwin (college), Antonio Brown, Scotty Miller (college), and Brate (college) are just a few I know of who shouldn’t be too greatly affected by the cold. I suspect when we win this game, it’ll be because we were the better team...
They may have players with experience playing in for cold-weather teams, but they have acclimated to warm weather over this past year, and they do not really have time to acclimate back into cold environment. It will affect all those guys adversely.
I think what is more is the offensive and defensive lines. The linebackers, etc. If we dominate the lines. If we run the ball well. If we are able to get pressure and stop their run attack like we did vs TEN....it won't really matter if Brady, Gronk, Godwin and Brown are acclimated to the cold.

I think we want it to snow.
Yes, for us snow would be better than cold. Slippery conditions slow down the pass rush. Of course it would affect our pass rush too....

So far, Bucs fans seem similar to ours in regards to this game. They are pumped and think they'll win, but many think it'll be a tough contest. Lots of talk about the weather and what kind of factor it'll be. They don't think it'll be a benefit to us. No much respect given to the defense, and that's not a surprise unless you've watched them closely the last month. Season stats don't show how we are playing now. Most seem to be under-rating the O-line a bit too.

Nothing too crazy out there yet. Will be curious to see what people say throughout the week.

Including playoffs.

Just crazy how predictive this is looking at the 4 teams remaining.

I'd put your money on this being a GB v Buffalo Super Bowl.

I picked GB and Buffalo before the playoffs started and I still stick by that.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have played outside when the temperature is less than 32 degree, 17 times in their history. They are 1-16 in those games with the only win coming in the 2002 playoffs against the Eagles.

Exactly. Also, I get Brady was a great cold weather QB, but he is one player, and a player who hasn't played in cold weather in some time.

I mean, I will go out without a coat at 30 right now, but if it was October, I would be freezing my ass off at 30. I was this year, it snowed 6 inches on October 16th.

3 months removed from a broken ankle and this being his first game back. I don't think it will be a big factor, personally.

I mean based on how much our Oline dominated the Rams, even out of Donald that is a really good front, they should be able to do the same vs the Bucs.

I'd heard he was hoping to come back, working out, was hoping though it wouldn't happen, we couldn't run zone out last time, was hoping it would be better inside without Vea, and Matt just game planned it wrong last time, and we could/would do better between the tackles, Vea back, wont make that easier thats for sure.

This game will really prove if we deserve to be in the Super Bowl or not.

well, ya, we need to win in order to go :thwap: I hear ya though, thing is unless it's a blow out, both teams deserve to go, both played some tough games to get here, have lost starters to IR (them more then us I think), we are getting healthier and peeking, them to it seems and there getting back Biggie Big Vida, really everyone thats left deserves to be here, and if Mahomes can play, well this is probably the best 4 QB's to play in the division championship in a long while

If we are successful on interior runs...even just getting you know 3 - 5 yards consistently, the chances of a Bucs victory is very small.

I look at the Bears game in January as a good indicator when they had Hicks back. We honestly didn't do too bad with our limited plays. Ran the ball 19 times and got 79 yards with just Williams and Jones. I would argue production even like that (with hopefully more offensive plays than vs Chicago) would be sufficient.

Yeah it’s a joke based on how every game needs to prove something.
