From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
Man, somehow I see TT sitting on the edge of a cloud saying in his deadpan delivery "nice view to scout 'em all".
TT was the master of boring off-seasons and exciting seasons. The peak teams he built were something else. I didn't know passing game could work like THAT. Wonder how many air miles he gathered traveling to scout everywhere in person.
Did not care what anyone outside said (which was great at the time when Fire TT webpages were popular, and those supporting him were called TTards), put his all into building the best team in his power. Deserved another ring, methinks. Let's go get it now.
He had some great successes and like everyone some failures. But every decision was, what he thought was best for the Green Bay Packers. It made me laugh when guys were saying he is doing things for his ego. I'm not sure he had one.
In today's Covid world I'm hoping this is not a big distraction for the team since there is a certain amount of insulation between everyone.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
The Packers didn't put press conferences on youtube before really 2015. I wanted to put together a mantage of Ted Thompson which I think was best from 2007 to 2013.
Damn. RIP TT. Too young. I know everyone talks about his health problems, but what were they? I thought he was supposedly cleared of anything major last year.
Thompson was a GM who personally went to watch virtually unknown seniors scrimmage in the mud and rain; many times it was just him, no other NFL representation around.
