So comparisons to Kampman, Clay and TJ Watt.

I mean we are better than this, aren't we?
The Watt comp is valid. So is Gary. Maybe Fletcher Cox?
Not TJ Watt really. 20 pounds smaller and appreciably slower in the 40.

No.

Limited knowledge tree of white players who played for the Packers or Badgers makes the most sense on this board.
The 1 guy that plays on the team that is an actual closer athletic comparison only gets it from @YoHoChecko
Yeah. Gary is always the athletic comparison I heard predraft. I also heard Matthews as a comparison but that was more about the limited college playing time.

The dude is just huge. He looks slower and less nimble to me than Gary just watching tape. But I am starting to like our Edge room. Wouldn't mind going after a fast and smaller guy on day 3 to increase the diversity of the room.

How is the Watt comp valid at all?

But like why does he have to be compared to any white player?
Yeah, Watt is smaller and slower than I remembered at draft time. I wonder what his numbers are now? To the other question, it is being real.

More based on how they play, or did in college. Though Watt is a bit more of a speed guy than LVN. Watt was smaller and slower at his draft than I remembered, though.

JJ Watt is probably closer, I could possibly get a little more behind that one.

Internet is clowning the packers by saying our selection never started a game at Iowa. Strange if true.
Iowa starts seniors first. He played rotational starter snaps. I think more than the starter, if I recall correctly. Just a weird college thing at their program.

But he is RAW raw. Like he doesn't have pass rush moves, he just overpowers people, mostly, but has the frame and mold and potential to develop into a lot more. I prefer more development with my elite athletes in the top 15, but he's an elite ceiling athlete with a good motor at a premium position, so he'll likely turn out at least solid.
I don't get the D&D with high first round picks, we do it so often on defense and it takes a season or two to have a good starter and if they excel it's time to resign them, I'am not in this to find super ceiling players, or DPOY guys, I just want starter ready players, imo D&D has a place late first and beyond.

I hope Ness is more ready.

I don't know if this was a good pick or not. We won't know for a while but you can never have enough good pass rushers.

I don't think he's much more ready than Gary was, doesn't mean he won't get up quicker. He won't have the same caliber of players in his way either, '

But this is actually a fine year to be okay taking a player who might need a year or two.

I can get a little more behind this pick with him being 21. He will get stronger just from physical maturity, just like Kenny did.

I forgot about his hockey background. He plays like it. Yeah this D could use some of that attitude.

Looking for the clips, but Van Ness had two just amazing bull rushes, one on Paris Johnson Jr and one on Skoronski, two top 10 picks.

Gives a rough of idea of where his ceiling could be.

Probably saw this, it was an old tweet. Not as impressive against Johnson, but that Skoronski one, ssssshhhiiiyet.

I see Nic Bosa on that Johnson Jr clip, that speed to power and lean is real.

That particular play was a really bad set by Skoronski, way back on his heels.

004 admonished us for comps to white edge guys, including guys that arguably fit, brings in a tweet saying Justin Smith and then says Nick Bosa.

LOL BF!!
