Re: Class Breakdowns - Safety

Micah Hyde is just a name example. There are several FA vet safeties still out there. We've gone on about how this safety class just isn't that good. Why risk an upper tier pick on a player who, from a scouting and testing standpoint, just doesn't measure up? That's the very definition of "rea...

Re: Post-Draft Leftovers

A complete list of still available FA safeties: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/safety/available/ Some viable names on that list if the Packers are not impressed with this years crop of draft eligible safeties. I don't see the team going after someone like Simmons but there are a couple...

Re: Zach Tom - HOF Center?

Again I think we are in a great position. I do believe we need to add at least 1 more talent add on the Oline. Not development talent, but legit talent. Whether he is the starter or 6th Olineman...we need one. There are tons of tackles in this draft. There are also tons of IOL in that late Rd 1 - R...

Re: Brit's 2024 Packers Big Board

This is awesome!!! Any chance you have a google sheets version you could share? We could real time keep it updated during the draft with available and selected. Sure thing. This should be editable for anyone with the link: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kQsabC_6fsZunrX4YtU0ZOmsgYDHKMLDI22kEHRc2po/...

Brit's 2024 Packers Big Board

Years ago Waldo used to post a Packers Big Board on here which I printed out and followed through draft weekend. Before I had that I knew I loved the draft but I knew diddly squat about it. That gave me something to follow along with and it turned the draft into the best weekend of the football cale...

Re: 2023 NFL Draft Discussion

From a cap management perspective there's an argument that featuring a lot of receiving TEs in your offence is quite smart due to the explosion in cost of WRs. This off-season the franchise tag for TE was cheaper than some middling slot receivers got in free agency. That's why Evan Engram hasn't sig...

Re: Rodgers Traded

The thing that amazes me is that it seemed like the Jets really did have the leverage if they had just waited. Which other team was going to take on that contract? No one else had apparently expressed interest and Rodgers had already announced he wanted to go to the Jets. The Packers clearly had mov...

Re: Rodgers Traded

It's also worth bearing in mind that by getting a future first we also have the POTENTIAL for it to be a very high first. That's actually quite valuable, even if the likely range is 20-40. The Jets play in a difficult division in a much tougher conference. They could easily take Ls to the Bills, Dol...

https://www.spotrac.com/research/nfl/the-financial-futures-of-rodgers-love-1684/?ct=t(EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_1_3_2022_16_10_COPY_02) Thanks for this. Very interesting. In terms of the numbers, it shows that a Rodgers trade is certainly possible. Either before June 1 to get 2023 draft capital but a 40m cap ...

The Jordan Love decision

Interested to hear the hive minds view on Love's 5th year option. We're likely in the middle of the final minutes of Jordan Love's playing career in Green Bay before the front office have to decide whether to take up his 5th year option at the end of 2022, which would trigger a $20m contract for 202...

Re: Round 1 - Pick #28, Devonte Wyatt, DL Georgia

I was intrigued by a comment Justis Mosqueda made on the Acme Packing podcast. He pointed out with the addition of Wyatt and Quay our nickel D could be special. Usually in nickel, with the extra defensive back, a team might be vulnerable to the run. But the size of our EDGE rushers and linebackers g...

Anyone watching something other than CheeseheadTV or the big networks? Not digging most of CHTV. They are deep day 3 mode already.
Watching the Athletic Football Show stream on YouTube. It's great.

Re: #22, Quay Walker, LB

Went for athlete over football player. Very anti-TT. TT was a fan of elite athletes too. Gute, TT and Ron Wolf are all from the Al Davis tree. He loved height weight speed guys and that's something Gute clearly values as much as any GM in the league. We probably don't like the comparison with Davis...

Does anyone have a list of OL that tick all the Packers historical thresholds?

I read that there are quite a few day 3 guys that could fit what the Packers are after.

Re: 2022 Make Your Own Big Board

Brought it back again this year, was really popular in 2020, not so much last year. I'm sitting at 34 first round grades this year, more than I've had that I can remember. I plan on focusing a lot more on that 25-75 range this week, so that might change. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QM4a...

Re: Packers Sign Sammy Watkins

"Up to 4M" sounds like the kinda deal you give a once-promising WR in his last chance effort to salvage a career. "Just" 29 years old but last played all 16 games as a rookie... Does this affect the draft? Naah. Or kinda, since we now have two boundary receivers (tho uninspiring...

Re: Veteran WR Options

So Parker chose Mac Jones over GM Rodgers? Yikes. Parker to an extent; the GM's offers to an extent. Lots of nuances there. Nothing black and white about those sorts of reports. Indeed. And most of the the info in these reports come from the agent. In their interest to say Parker chose NE over the ...
