Wasn't he around that 3.0 to 3.5 seconds or so last year?BSA wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020 10:02...using NFL’s Next Gen Stats, they recorded only seven total dropbacks of 44 where Rodgers saw pressure. Some of it had to do with a quick trigger from Rodgers, who got rid of the ball on an average of 2.3 seconds — because pressure typically arrives at around 2.5 seconds in a typical dropback, this mitigated the vikings pass-rush.

We 100% played prevent on their last drive of the 1st half and the ENTIRE 4th quarter. It was a poor prevent at that.
Why wouldn't they? We were missing Kenny Clark. I would expect any team that lost their #1 defender to be attacked there.did MN like run it on every 2 pt conversion? Did we have an answer for them at all?

The story also states that Rodgers got tired of seeing his receivers run the same routes all the time, which only happened because McCarthy refused to change his offense. To fix things, Rodgers apparently decided to start changing the plays that McCarthy was calling on the field, which happened nearly one-third of the time.
we all read this bleacher report stuff a year or so ago, maybe you forgot, but it details the no love lost relationship between Rodgers and McCarthy, most blamed Rodgers, but even though I liked McCarthy, imho he was the problem all along, he would not change very much and ultimately was fired because of it.
WHAT HAPPENED IN GREEN BAY
A checked-out coach. A tuned-out QB. A soap opera where there should have been a dynasty. And those who saw the Aaron Rodgers-Mike McCarthy wreckage up close say we didn't know the half of it.
here had to be a breaking point. An incident, an argument, a loss, a moment that doomed the football marriage of Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy.
Anyone could see the Packers quarterback and head coach were headed for divorce well before that inconceivable 20-17 loss to the lowly Cardinals in December, the one that finally got McCarthy fired. Death stares and defiance from Rodgers had been constant for years by then.
But how far back do you have to go to find the beginning of the end?
Was it Week 3 of the 2017 season, when cameras caught Rodgers barking "Stupid $%@# call!" at his coach?
Or back further, to the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 18, 2015, when McCarthy coached with the ferocity of a sloth, calling for field goals from the 1-yard line twice in the first half and then running three straight times with five minutes left to infuriate his QB and effectively euthanize a Super Bowl season?
the whole article points out Rodgers frustration with McCarthy, sure of course I think it's somewhat hyped to sell ink, but not all of it, who among us doesn't feel that we should have gotten a couple more LOmbardi's, we blame Rodgers for to much audible and changing plays, but thats what frustration leads to.
either way, these articles point out that Rodgers did want change of schemes from McCarthy and never really got much of anything different for years and years, even after the decline of his once splendid receiver corp, McCarthy remained near status quo.

This article is a perfect example of a red herring. It really has little barring on the current conversation. No one argued that Rodgers didn't want a new scheme.
Wait, but you said:
Wait, but you said:
Which is it? Is he sticking to what was called NO MATTER WHAT? Or is it that he was changing the plays constantly?he (Rodgers) was sticking to the called play NO MATTER WHAT happened

Why on earth does this forum/packers fans care so much about people and stories who have left the building?
Capers, TT, Mike McCarthy... it's 2020, we're 1-0, our QB-coach relationship is great, our offense looks good, and I don't care about the dynamics of Rodgers and McCarthy's relationship two years ago.
No offense to you, personally, yoop; it's all over. And not saying people can't post what they want. I'm just responding to it by saying I couldn't care less.

I agree with this so much. No offense, but some of you are WAY more into the Green Bay Packers reality show than you are Green Bay Packers football.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020 11:07Why on earth does this forum/packers fans care so much about people and stories who have left the building?

I think it is pretty obvious that its always been system for 8 years that relied on receivers being open where Rodgers needs them who can't help but be flustered behind an Oline who allows pressures which needs a better system to rely on the run game more which how can you expect his stats to be good when we run so much that needs TT and Gute needs to put a priortiy on WR talent in the draft earlier because everybody could see the decline in talent coming to even though we had the talent and players how could you expec tthem to play while being injured and it's a rhythm thing that even if you're playing you still won't be where you need to be because they're injured and we have no talent and the scheme takes adjustments and time which is so obvious why we are now seeing the talent and Rodgers always has played the same.BF004 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020 11:11Actually, I'm not quite sure I know his take on this. Yes. That is why I yelled at you.paco wrote: ↑13 Sep 2020 16:51Well that was fun! Can't ask for much more than that for the first game. Division game, on the road and we, by all accounts, spanked them!
I'm sure you guys covered just about everything, but a few points I made during the game...
Rodgers and Adams = Wow. Vintage stuff. HOF caliber stuff. Awesome to see week 1.
Jaire with 2 huge plays. Yes, the defense gave up too much, but those were killers.
Loving the Deguara pick. Dude is already coming to play big time.
John Runyan - told ya. Didn't think it would be this early, but he played very well in relief.
I want to see more AJ Dillon. But love the 4 headed attack. Sorry fantasy owners.
MVS is going be frustrating as hell this year. But he's going to give us enough. Lazard too.
Defense stepped up where they had to with stops. Just need to adjust to give up less big plays and ALL GAS NO F'IN BRAKE goes for the D too. Prevent D = Prevent a win.
Injuries were tough today. Feel horrible especially for Lane Taylor. But we really need Kenny Clark to be ok.
Krys Barnes, who woulda thunk it? Guy was solid.
Savage had a rough game.
Time of possession was a thing of beauty! When was the last time we saw something like that? Feels like forever.
Ok, more than a few. You guys miss me?

" LaFleur even found one snap for FB John Lovett, who drove WLB Eric Wilson out of the frame on a sweep."
I'm a Lovett fan and was glad they brought him back to PS and even happier they activated him on Sunday. MLF had the opportunity to get everybody involved, Sunday great launch to the season. Deguarra got 24 snaps and looked solid in run/pass

Deguara is a major upgrade over Danny Vitale it appears in the open field blocking. I think we are going to be really excited about him.BSA wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020 14:15" LaFleur even found one snap for FB John Lovett, who drove WLB Eric Wilson out of the frame on a sweep."

his 2 fer 1 block will surely make into the team film review. LaFleur was enamored with Josiah as a football player and he rewarded his coach's confidence in his first outing of the year. HUGE upgrade over Vitale for what MLF wants to do.
IT. IS. TIME
my take has not changed, the point of this discussion was that Rodgers wanted 3 or more years ago for McCarthy to change the schemes, hense my comment that Rodgers did Sunday what he probably would have liked to have been doing the last 3 seasons, since then it's been a tit for tat discussion, so I brought the evidence.BF004 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020 11:11Actually, I'm not quite sure I know his take on this. MLF gave Gute pretty much all the credit for Josiah and forcing the idea of him on Matt.
Early returns good so far. Some guys seem like they get it. Vitale did absolutely not ever get that, never once sold on him.

He had a heck of a block on the Lazard end around. Took out two Vikings defenders on one block. Part of it was poor positioning on the defenders, but a great block. Turned a decent gain into a huge one.BF004 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020 15:14MLF gave Gute pretty much all the credit for Josiah and forcing the idea of him on Matt.

Yeah vitale seemed to want to do all the stuff that are bonus for FB/TEs to do...but not stuff you actually pay them to do...like pancake people and make crucial blocks. He opted out of the season in NE. Glad we moved on.mnpackerbacker wrote: ↑15 Sep 2020 16:16He had a heck of a block on the Lazard end around. Took out two Vikings defenders on one block.
